The Police Athletic League is a unit of the St Johns County Sheriffs Office Youth Services Unit. Sheriff Shoar provides the personnel, buildings and vehicles for PAL. All of the program funding comes from donations. The donations are tax deducible and help enrich the kids lives.
PAL is a non-profit organization with the goal to help kids stay out of trouble by providing them with positive alternative such as sports and other activities. The Historic Saint Johns County Police Athletic League (PAL) started in 1991 by Mike Dillyhon. PAL brings law enforcement officers and youth together in a positive atmosphere to promote communication that will lead to trust and respect for each other. The programs are staffed by law enforcement officers in cooperation with many volunteers. Most programs are provided free but some require a minimum payment.
PAL works in cooperation with many local organizations such as the County Recreation Department, local schools, Boys and Girls Club, United Way, Juvenile Justice, Community and Schools (CIS), Neighborhood Partnership (NPPC) and others to provide services to the kids. PAL is funded, in part, by the United Way. Please click on the link below to vist thier website.
